Thoughts and Prayers Needed Please

We all encounter hard things in our lives.  That is the crappy part about life... the hard parts.  Two weeks ago my family started the roller coaster of our life - my dad was diagnosed with gallbladder cancer.  Even typing that makes me shake my head, this whole journey is surreal.  Ironically, my dad is in the best shape of his life.  The weekend before we received the bad news, he walked a 5K with me in under an hour and didn't even break a sweat and it was a hot day.  The symptoms came out of no where, which now, as we understand it, is very common with this type of cancer.  This last two weeks have been up and down to say the least.  Waiting on pins and needles to get the news about the tumor, waiting to hear the course of action, waiting in the hospital as they did procedures to drain his gallbladder.

There has been a lot of waiting, but even more praying.  I thank God everyday for my family and friends and the strength he has given us to fight this.

On Friday, my dad will undergo surgery.  The hope is that the surgeon will be able to remove his gallbladder and half of his liver, but only if he thinks he will be able to get all of it.  I ask that anyone reading keep my dad in your thoughts and prayers during this time.  My family and I would greatly appreciate it.
